Picture This, A Strong Focused 2016

Zoom, wide angle or somewhere in between, everyone has a perspective, his or her truth. The picture we have of the world around us is based on what we see, hear, our past experiences, our values and our habits.

As a coach and facilitator I spend my days asking questions to understand truths, discover underlying values, and help people try on new lenses. I have been trained to know that to create the best picture of the future it often takes more than a point and shoot solution. Without first looking through various lenses at an array of perspectives, it is difficult to optimize results

If you think others don’t see it the way you do you will be right. If you run a business or lead a team and don’t create an environment that enables everyone to put their ideas on the table in a positive or creative way- you will wind up with a show that no one feels proud of.

Year-end is the perfect time to open the lens cap and try on new possibilities. 2016 is right around the corner and unless you take the time out now to start preparing for a new show is likely your pictures in 2016 will look dated.

If it is just you- consider working with a coach to help you try out some new lenses. If you have a team- consider bringing in a facilitator, someone with the skills to encourage different perspectives, creativity and innovation.

A strong planning process goes beyond just looking at how you did this year against goals. Seeking new views, looking at what is going on in the world around you, and seeing what things really look like up close, are important truths that can strengthen your vision of the future and help to focus daily decisions for award winning outcomes.
